November? What's that?
So yeah, what happened? It's like i blinked and an entire month flew by. I know the way Laura and i have our life structured time can seem to fly by in general, or we can easily get busy, but man, i don't even remember what i did this past month! Well, here's the best i can remember...
Most of the month was us trying to play catch-up with friends and family. I don't even recall how many people we have seen that we haven't in awhile. I would say nearly every night of the week we were hanging out or double-dating or playing Pirates of the Carribbean Chess or driving down to Burlington for some random thing with the Elon college kids. It all culminated at Thanksgiving like it usually does where we try to be everything to everyone. Good times...
This Thanksgiving we trekked up to Hendersonville for Laura's Familie's Thanksgiving. It was nice as usual, though apparently most of the family wasn't raised in a football-on-thanksgiving house like me, so i had to sneak it in on a small tv downstairs when i could. Also, we weren't able to stuff ourselves because they ressurrected the Wright Family Turkey Bowl. Needless to say i was able to QB my team to a convincing win and put up MVP type numbers with an unheard of passer-rating, bringing home the "home-made" turkey bowl trophy to the Fissel Household. On the other hand, it was also a saddening occassion because Laura had demanded that we practice endlessly in the weeks prior so she could be a dominant force on the field (I love my wife!). Sad news was we were not picked on the same team, so she ended up on a team that took her at "female playing football" face value and only directed one pass her way the entire game, though she roamed free like an elk behind our defense. So, if you see her, tell her she played a great game, and she has hands like super-glue (cause she does!).
After all this, we came down to Davie Co. and hung out with mom and Ronnie on Saturday. Grandma and Grandaddy showed up and we were then able to stuff ourselves. As always it turned into a failry laid back and relaxing day (one of the biggest reasons we like to go to DC in the first place).
Now it's December... i am almost done with school and ready to kick work into high gear as my boss is out again having his other hip replaced this time. Maybe this will turn into a full-time gig for me, who knows?! Anyways, i will try to get some pictures up sooner than later and Laura, i am sure, has plenty to tell about her new obsession...
Love you guys... GO STEELERS!
